Q Interiors Director embarks upon 4,830-mile triathlon charity challenge

Q Interiors Director Ian Lambert is taking on an immense challenge this year in support of Dragonfly Cancer Trust, embarking upon a whopping 4,830-mile triathlon that he aims to complete within four months.

Kicking off his challenge on February 1st, Ian has committed himself to swimming, cycling and running on a daily basis, taking no rest days in between. We are incredibly proud of Ian for taking on this immense challenge, and are excited to follow along as he runs, cycles and swims at various locations around the North East region! 

Aiming to beat a world record

Currently on target to achieve his goal of 4,830 miles, Ian is set to potentially secure a world record for the longest triathlon completed, surpassing the current record that stands at an impressive 4,670 miles. 

Over the next four months, Ian will be striving to achieve the following distances in each stage of his triathlon: 

• Running 932 miles
• Cycling 3728 miles
• Swimming 170 miles

Once he has begun a discipline, Ian must complete that discipline before moving on to the next. 

Supporting the Dragonfly Cancer Trust

Ian has embarked upon this challenge in aid of North East-based charity, the Dragonfly Cancer Trust.

A fantastic local charity for which Ian is also a trustee, the Dragonfly Cancer Trust seeks to provide palliative care for young cancer patients between the ages of 0 and 25, with a distinct focus on emotional support and memory-making.

Ian has previously undertaken a number of fundraising activities for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust in the past, such as completing a 1000-mile triathlon, as well as taking part in the Great North Run alongside Q Interiors Director Jill Lambert. However, Ian has yet to embark upon anything that quite matches the scale of this challenge!
