Q Interiors Director completes 1000-mile charity triathlon challenge
Back in September 2022, our director, Ian Lambert, took part in a self-created 1000-mile charity triathlon to raise money for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust.
This isn’t the first time Ian has pledged his support to the Trust, as he completed a 170-mile triathlon in 2021 and raised an impressive £6500.
The Dragonfly Cancer Trust provides palliative care for young cancer patients between the ages of 0 and 25 with a distinct focus on emotional support and memory-making.
The charity aims to make each moment matter by providing creative therapy, cash gifts and keepsakes for those battling cancer.
Ian’s 1000-mile charity triathlon started with a 30-mile swim which was split up into three 10-mile swims over the course of three days in Loch Shin, Scotland.
Then it was onto the bike ride, where Ian cycled the 700-mile distance from the Scottish Highlands to Bristol unassisted across five days, averaging at about 150 miles a day.
Finally, to complete this inspiring challenge, Ian ran from Bristol to Mawgan Porth in Cornwall over a 4-day period, achieving his final 200 miles.
We are proud to say that Ian raised just over £3,000 for the trust, taking his overall fundraising total up to nearly £10,000!
Our team are looking forward to seeing what challenge Ian conquers next and will be supporting him every step of the way.
