Back in August, we were contacted by one of the top residential developers in the UK to design a traditional country-inspired new build interior to target young families in Devon.
For this project, we created a showhome with a traditional country aesthetic and conducted a fit-out of all furnishings to appeal to the desired audience.
A WARM FAMILY FRIENDLY APPEAL
We began the process by researching the area and the traditional country interior style for inspiration.
To create a space that brought out a sense of nostalgia while displaying a true feel for family life, we created a traditional interior design that combined casual and formal aesthetics to create a warm atmosphere with elegant details throughout the home.
We incorporated traditional colours and furniture shapes throughout the showhome using natural fabrics and country-style furniture to keep the interior fresh and inviting while still incorporating contemporary accessories and decor pieces.
For the bedrooms, we designed headboards in a range of shapes and sizes to mirror the welcoming antiqued and quaint ambience that our client desired and additionally designed two fun and playful kid’s rooms for added appeal for families in the area.
The two rooms we designed were the perfect addition to the home considering the proximity of the local Wildlife Reserve, Eden Project and Diggerland attractions. We created one digger-themed room and one flowered wildlife room both to appeal to younger children. The custom wildlife cushions that were a final touch to the flower room were designed by our seamstress which helped to bring the concept to life.
The final result of this show home was a blended contemporary and vintage style space that catered to family life and appealed to a number of clients in the local community.
