In 2025, interior material trends are going tactile. Forget glossy perfection — the trend is about celebrating texture, imperfection, and authenticity. Whether you’re planning a renovation or refreshing a single room, these are the surface trends adding soul and sophistication to today’s interiors.
Walls are becoming canvases in their own right. Limewash, clay paint, and textured plaster finishes add depth, movement, and a timeless feel.
How to use it: Perfect for feature walls, bedrooms, or entire open-plan spaces where you want subtle softness without pattern.
Designer tip: Apply with a broad brush or sponge to get organic variation — no two walls will look alike (and that’s the point).
Matte, honed, or leathered stones are overtaking high-shine marble. This new approach to stone feels warm and artisanal — perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, and statement coffee tables.
How to use it: Work in soft travertine, limestone, or creamy marble for a luxe look with a grounded feel.
Designer tip: Combine with curved-edge furniture for a calm, sculptural vibe.
We’re moving away from grey-toned wood in favour of mid to dark woods with natural knots and visible grain. Oak, walnut and ash are leading the pack.
How to use it: Furniture, built-ins, or flooring — especially when paired with warm whites and soft black accents.
Designer tip: Mix wood tones thoughtfully — aim for contrast but keep undertones warm.
From boucle to brushed cotton, 2025 is all about layering textures — not patterns. Visual interest comes from contrast in materials, not colour chaos.
How to use it: Mix three or more textures in your soft furnishings — velvet cushions, wool throws, linen curtains, or boucle headboards.
Designer tip: Stick to a tonal palette to make texture the hero.
